Who we are and what you accept

pdftools.capriapp.app is operated by PDFlora (the 'operator', 'we' or 'us'). By opening the site or using any tool, you agree to these terms, to our Acceptable Use page and to our Privacy Policy. If you use the site on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these terms for it.

You must be old enough to enter into a binding agreement where you live, or use the site with the permission of a parent or guardian. The service is not directed to children under 16 (13 in the United States).

The service

PDFlora provides online tools to work with PDF files: organizing pages, optimizing, converting, editing, signing visually, protecting and running OCR. No account is needed and, at the moment, we do not charge for the tools and there are no payments on the site.

Most tools run in your browser, so your file is processed on your device and is not uploaded. A few tools (Word to PDF, Excel to PDF, PowerPoint to PDF and HTML to PDF) upload the file over HTTPS to our server, process it temporarily and delete it. The Privacy Policy describes both modes in detail. Each tool page also describes what the tool can and cannot do.

Acceptable use

You agree to use the service lawfully and responsibly. What is and is not allowed, including the ban on illegal content, abuse of the service, attempts to break or overload it, and use of the tools on files you have no right to handle, is set out on our Acceptable Use page, which forms part of these terms.

We may limit or block access to anyone whose use threatens the security, stability or lawful operation of the service.

Your files and your rights

Your files remain yours. We do not claim any ownership of, or licence to use, the documents you process, beyond the technical permission needed to process them for you when you use a server tool, which ends when the job is finished and the files are deleted.

You are responsible for the files you process. You confirm that you own them or have the right to use, convert and modify them, that they do not infringe anyone's rights, and that you are entitled to unlock a protected file before you use the Unlock tool. We cannot recover a password you have lost.

Please keep your original files. Tools produce a new copy for you to download, but you should always check the result before you rely on it, and never delete your only original.

Limits of the tools

Tools have practical limits that are described on each tool page. For example, browser tools depend on your device's memory, and the interface refuses files above 200 MB and PDFs above 2,000 pages. Server tools accept files up to 50 MB. Conversions may not reproduce every layout, font or feature of the source document.

The visual signature created by the Sign tool is an image placed on the page. It is not a certified or cryptographic digital signature, and whether it is legally accepted depends on the country and the type of document. Redaction, watermarking, password protection and similar tools help with common tasks but are not a guarantee of confidentiality or legal compliance, and you should check the result before sharing it.

Availability

We work to keep the site available, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or always reachable. It may be unavailable because of maintenance, updates, technical problems, third-party services or reasons outside our control.

We may change, suspend or remove features or tools, or add limits to them, at any time and without notice, for technical, legal or operational reasons.

No warranty

The service is provided 'as is' and 'as available'. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we give no warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability or non-infringement.

In particular, we do not warrant that a tool will process every file, that the output will be identical to the input except for the requested change, or that the result will be suitable for your purpose. Nothing on the site is legal, financial or professional advice.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PDFlora is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits, revenue or business, arising from the use of, or inability to use, the site or its tools. This includes damage caused by a file that was converted, modified, damaged or lost during processing.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the extent permitted by law. Because the tools are currently offered without charge, our total liability to you for any claim related to the service is limited to the smallest amount permitted by the applicable law. Nothing in these terms removes rights that the law gives you as a consumer or excludes liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by negligence where the law does not allow it.

Intellectual property

The site, its design, text, code, logos and the name PDFlora belong to the operator or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. These terms give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive and revocable right to use the service. They do not give you the right to copy, resell, scrape or reverse engineer the site, except where the law allows it.

The tools rely on open-source software components, such as PDF.js, pdf-lib, QPDF, Tesseract.js, LibreOffice and WeasyPrint, which remain under their own licences. Third-party services and links

The site may include services or links from third parties, such as the jsDelivr CDN used by OCR, Google Analytics and Google AdSense (the last two only with your consent). We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or practices. Your use of them is subject to their own terms and policies.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for example when the service, the law or our practices change. The date of the latest update is shown on this page. If you keep using the site after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms. If a change is significant, we will make it visible on the site.

Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the law applicable in the place where the operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be settled amicably is subject to the competent courts of that place, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights you have in your country of residence.
