How it works

  1. Step 1: Choose or drop a PDF and wait for the thumbnails.

  2. Step 2: Click the pages you want to keep, or type them, for example 1, 5-8.

  3. Step 3: Choose whether the result keeps the original order or the order you typed.

  4. Step 4: Save and download the new PDF.

What extracting pages does

Extracting is the mirror image of deleting: instead of marking what to throw away, you mark what to keep. The tool copies just those pages into a new PDF and leaves your original file untouched.

You can select pages by clicking thumbnails or by typing numbers and ranges. The new file follows either the original page order or the order in which you typed the pages, so 5, 1, 3 can give you a document that starts with page 5. Pages are copied as they are, so text stays selectable and images keep their quality.

Original order or the order you typed

Most of the time you want pages in the order they had in the source, and clicking thumbnails gives you exactly that. Typing is different: if you type 9, 2, 4 and choose the typed order, the new file starts with page 9, then page 2, then page 4.

This makes extraction a quick way to reorder a few pages without opening a full editor. For rearranging a whole document, drag and drop in Organize PDF is more practical.

Extract, split or delete: which one to use

The three tools reach similar results from different directions, so the right choice depends on which group of pages is smaller or which output you need.

  • Extract PDF Pages: you know the few pages to keep and want one new file.
  • Delete PDF Pages: you know the few pages to remove and want to keep the rest.
  • Split PDF: you want several files at once, such as one per chapter or per person.

Supported formats

Input
One PDF file (.pdf). Not password-protected.
Output
One PDF file containing only the selected pages.

For many separate outputs at once, such as one file per chapter, Split PDF is a better fit.

Good to know

  • Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked first (use Unlock PDF).
  • The result is one document. To get several files in one go, use Split PDF.
  • Extracting does not shrink individual pages, so a small selection of heavy pages can still be a large file; use Compress PDF if needed.
  • Bookmarks and links pointing to pages you did not select may no longer work in the new file.

Your files never leave your browser

This tool runs entirely on your device using your browser. Your files are not uploaded to our servers and are not stored anywhere. Closing the tab discards everything.

Frequently asked questions

Does extracting pages change the original PDF?

No. The original file is only read. You download a new PDF with the selected pages and the source stays exactly as it was.

Can I extract non-consecutive pages?

Yes. Click any pages you like or type a list such as 1, 4, 9-12. They end up together in a single new PDF.

Can the extracted pages be in a different order?

Yes. Type the pages in the order you want and choose the typed order for the result. Otherwise the pages keep the order they had in the original.

Is my PDF uploaded to extract pages?

No. Thumbnails are drawn and the new file is built in your browser, so the document stays on your device.

Will the extracted pages look the same?

Yes. Pages are copied without re-rendering, so text stays selectable and images, fonts and vector graphics keep their quality.
