What rotating a PDF page really changes
Every PDF page carries an orientation setting. Rotate PDF changes that setting instead of redrawing the page, so the content underneath is untouched. Text stays selectable and searchable, images are not recompressed, and there is no loss of quality however many times you turn a page.
You see each page as a thumbnail that updates as you rotate. You can turn every page at once, or select just the ones that are wrong, and choose 90° to the left, 90° to the right or a half turn of 180°.

A scan that came out sideways
A photographed form or a landscape sheet fed the wrong way into a scanner shows up rotated. Turn it 90° and it reads normally.
Mixed-orientation documents
A report with a wide table in the middle: rotate only those pages so readers do not have to tilt their head or screen.
Upside-down duplex scans
Two-sided scans often leave every other page upside down. Select those pages and give them a 180° turn.

Why pages end up sideways
Most rotation problems come from how the file was created. A scanner assumes portrait pages, so a landscape sheet is stored sideways. A phone camera records the orientation of the device, and some apps ignore that when exporting. And when several sources are combined, each keeps its own orientation, which makes one file mix upright and rotated pages.
Knowing the cause helps you fix it once. If every page is wrong by the same amount, rotate them all; if only a pattern of pages is wrong, select those pages instead of turning the whole document and then undoing part of it.
Choosing left, right or 180°
Look at where the top of the text points in the thumbnail. If the top of the text is at the left edge, turn the page 90° to the right. If it is at the right edge, turn it 90° to the left. If the text is upside down, use 180°.
Rotating is reversible, so a wrong guess costs nothing: turn the page again and the preview updates. Nothing is written to a file until you save.

- Text top at the right edge: rotate left (counterclockwise).

Rotation changes the page as a whole. To change the visible area of a page, use Crop PDF.
Good to know
- Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked first (use Unlock PDF).
- Only quarter turns and half turns are offered; the tool cannot straighten a page that was scanned at a slight angle.
- Rotating changes the page orientation, not the content: text inside a scanned image is still an image and does not become searchable.
- The tool refuses PDFs above 200 MB or 2,000 pages, and very long documents need enough device memory for the thumbnails.

Does rotating a PDF reduce its quality?
No. The tool changes only the orientation stored with the page, so images are not recompressed and text and vector graphics stay sharp and selectable.
Can I rotate just one page?
Yes. Select only that page on the thumbnail grid and rotate it. All the other pages keep their current orientation.
Is my PDF uploaded to rotate it?
No. The previews are drawn and the new file is written in your browser, so the document never leaves your device.
Can I rotate by an angle such as 15°?
No. Only 90° left, 90° right and 180° are available. A slightly crooked scan needs to be re-scanned or straightened in an image editor.
Will the pages print in the rotated orientation?
Yes. PDF viewers and printers follow the orientation saved with each page, so the rotated pages appear and print the way you saw them in the preview.
